This is not necessarily a bad thing, though. The material these pans are made of is hard anodized aluminum which is, frankly, one of the best-performing metals used in making pans, even though it’s much less expensive than copper.
Aluminum is often used to make pots and pans because it’s both lightweight and a good conductor of heat. One problem with aluminum is the fact that it can react with certain acidic foods, like tomato sauce, and change the taste of the food.
