Best 6-Burner Gas Grill – Reviews

Our Pick

Weber Summit S-670 6-Burner Natural Gas Grill, Stainless Steel
Our rating:

“The envy of every backyard” – that’s the slogan Weber uses for their Summit S-670 grill. And we definitely agree. This grill is a real beast. If you have enough space for it in your backyard, it will give you everything you could ever ask from a gas grill (except built-in gas and that smokey flavour not being the gas charcoal combo grill).

First of all, this unit is simply huge. It’s 30 inches deep and 74 inches wide. The grill comes with its own spacious enclosed cart, a huge lid, and two side tables. Best of all, the whole exterior is made of stainless steel which means you never ever have to worry about rust or corrosion. You can really put this grill in your yard and just leave it there. And considering how huge it is, this is definitely a good thing – you don’t really want to move this bad boy around.

The primary grilling area on this grill measures 624 square inches – which means you can fit at least 24 burgers at once in there. Moreover, there is also a spacious warming rack. This huge area is heated by 6 stainless steel burners you can ignite and control independently. The cooking racks are made of stainless steel too as well as the flavorizer bars that you get with this grill, of course.

So far we’ve told you only about the basics and you can immediately see that the quality of this grill is outstanding. Other than that, this grill also comes with every feature imaginable – a side burner, a sear station, an infrared rotisserie burner at the back, a smoker burner (yes, it is possible to smoke meat on a gas grill)… It’s truly a grill that lets you pull out all the stops when making a BBQ party.

Megamaster 6-Burner Propane Barbecue Gas grill, Side Shelves With Hooks, for Camping, Outdoor Cooking, Patio, Garden Barbecue Grill, Open Cart With Side Tables, Black
Our rating:

If you are on a tight budget, but still want an extra-large, reliable grill, then the Megamaster 6 Burner Propane Gas Grill might just be what you are looking for. Let’s face it Megamaster is not the biggest name on the market, but the most famous models often come with a hefty price tag too. With this Megamaster grill, you get a well-made grill equipped with all the basic features at a fraction of the price of a Weber grill in this size.

The Megamaster 6 Burner Propane Gas Grill offers a total of 753 square inches of cooking space. This includes the primary grilling area over 6 burners and a spacious warming rack above (which is always useful).

This grill doesn’t have fancy features like side burners and sear burners, but it’s really well made and does its job well. It comes on a sturdy cart with heavy-duty wheels. It also has two oversized side tables which we found really useful as they give you plenty of extra working space.

Finally, there is one more thing that really stands out on this grill – the grilling grates. Those are made of 7mm-thick cast iron covered with enamel coating for easier cleaning. Cast iron retains heat and radiates it back into your food, resulting in even cooking and perfect sear marks on your meat.

If you are looking for the ultimate gift for a BBQ-enthusiast (or just for yourself) – this might just be it. The Napoleon LEX 485 BBQ Grill is one of the fanciest-looking grills out there. And it’s not just about the looks – this grill really works great. On top of that, it also comes with some interesting features you won’t find on other grills.

What really makes this grill stand out are the little things that make it unique. First of all, the cast iron grilling racks are wavy. This prevents the food from falling through and gives you unique sear marks. Moreover, this grill comes with two convenient side tables. The catch is, they are not just side tables. Once you open the cove, you’ll find an infrared sear burner in the right side table. On the left side, you’ll find an integrated ice bucket and a cutting board that goes over it. Char-Broil Performance 650 6-Burner Cabinet Liquid Propane Gas Grill
Our rating:

The Char-Broil Performance 650 Gas Grill is a quality grill that comes at a reasonable price too. This grill offers everything you would expect from a large, party-sized gas grill.

First of all, there is the huge grilling area. This grill offers 650 square inches to work with – but just in the primary grilling space. On top of that, there is a large warming rack too. The grill has 6 main burners, each offering 10,000 BTU of grilling power. The sixth burner is extra strong, so you can use it for searing. You can control each burner independently to create multiple heat zones for grilling different foods at the same time. On top of that, this grill actually includes a seventh burner which is built into the side table. This one really comes in handy for preparing side-dishes while you are grilling all that food (and this grill can really handle a lot).

The reason why we chose this grill for our list is that everything on it is really well-made. The burners are made of stainless steel and they also come with little stainless steel heat tents that prevent flare-ups. The whole exterior of the grill is stainless too, including the cabinet, the side tables, and the lid.

Royal Gourmet GB8000 8-Burner Liquid Propane Event Gas Grill, BBQ, Picnic, or Camping Outdoor, Black
Our rating:

For our last pick, we actually chose a grill with 8 burners. If you are looking for a 6-burner grill, you probably have plenty of space for your grill. Considering the price tag of Royal Gourmet grills, which are quite affordable, there is really no reason to settle for 6 burners when you can have 8.

Now, this grill is quite unique and it’s not for everyone, but it’s definitely perfect for large parties. With 950 square inches of cooking area, you can easily make 60 burgers at the same time! In addition to this, this grill has extra powerful burners. Each of the 8 burners packs 13,000 BTU of power (regular burners usually only offer 10,000 BTU). To handle all of this power, this grill also allows you to hook up two propane tanks at once.

This Royal Gourmet grill comes on a sturdy open-style cart. It also has two large side-tables, and a grease tray that’s easy to take out and clean. One peculiar thing about this grill is that there is no lid. It’s just a huge grill that offers a huge amount of power – and that’s actually all you need for a good grilling session, right?

Best 6-Burner Gas Grill – Buyers Guide

If you already know you want a 6-burner gas grill, you must know that this type of grill will take up a lot of space. If this is not an issue, then you really don’t have to think about the size. All 6-burner grills are huge and they offer enough space to cook for a small army. However, there are some other things you should consider in order to find the perfect model for you.

Budget

Before even looking at these grills, it’s good to have an idea of what your budget is. Many of these grills, like the Weber 7470001 Summit S-670 6-Burner Natural Gas Grill, offer so many features that it would take months to test out all of them. However, they also come with a hefty price tag. If you are on a tight budget, consider what kind of features you really need from your grill and go from there.

Some grills come with dedicated sear burners, additional side burners, infrared burners, rotisserie burners and the list goes on and on. The Napoleon LEX 485 BBQ Grill even comes with an integrated ice bucket.

Construction

When it comes to grills this size, quality construction is really important. You need a grill with a stable base that can handle the weight of all this food. Moreover, since these grills are huge, you probably wouldn’t want to move them around too often. If you’re gonna leave your grill outdoors (even with a cover), you’re gonna want something that is weather-resistant. In this case, stainless steel is always your best bet.

Other than that, there are a couple of other things to consider. Do you want a grill with a closed cart or an open cart? Do you need side tables? What about a lid? You can find all of these features on the grills on our list, so it’s completely your choice.

Grilling Grates

The grilling grates seem like a small detail, but they can really add a special touch to your grilling experience. Cast iron grilling grates are great because they retain heat and radiate it back into your food. They are often coated with an enamel or ceramic coating for easier cleaning, but this coating can start chipping over time. Stainless steel racks, on the other hand, don’t retain heat so well, but they are quite literally indestructible.

Final Thoughts

Looking for a 6-burner gas grill is a fun endeavor! There are so many cool features to choose from, and it all comes down to what you, personally, like best. If you are not sure, you can just get the Weber 7470001 Summit S-670 6-Burner Natural Gas Grill, a grill that comes with every special feature imaginable. On the other hand, if you’d rather not break the bank, but still want a full-featured grill, the Megamaster 6 Burner Propane Gas Grill is definitely a great choice.
