Pulled Pork is definitely one of the easiest and best BBQ dishes to make in a smoker, a slow cooker, or in the oven. The only thing you really need is patience. We don’t know about you, but if we are going to cook something for 6 hours, we make a lot of it. Luckily, pulled pork arguably tastes even better the next day, and you incorporate it in so many different dishes. 

Today, we’ve prepared a list of 10 easy and quick recipes to bring your leftover pulled pork to a whole new level.

1. Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Yes, a sandwich is probably the easiest thing you can do with pulled pork the day (or two) after cooking it. But don’t underestimate the humble pulled pork sandwich just because of the simplicity of the dish. In fact, we think a well-made sandwich is one of the best ways to bring out the flavor of BBQ pulled pork. Plus, sandwiches work perfectly on almost any occasion. No matter if you need a work lunch or some food to bring to a picnic – a pulled pork sandwich will definitely work great! 

Now, there are probably millions of different ways to make a sandwich with pulled pork, and you can trust your imagination and preferences. Just pulled pork in a bun? Delicious. But, for the day after, you might want to dress it up a little bit – add some cheese to the sandwich, maybe an egg, some veggies, and your favorite dressing. 

One of our favorites is a Cuban-style pulled pork sandwich. 

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 baguette (or your favorite type of bread) 
  • 2 (or more) slices of cheese 
  • Pickles 
  • Butter 
  • A bit of mustard or your favorite dressing (optional) 

All you need to do is layer all the ingredients in the sandwich, add the pulled pork, and warm it all up in a sandwich press or a skillet. 

2. Pizza Time!

Pizza is another all-time favorite when it comes to using up leftover pulled pork. Pulled pork simply goes great on a pizza, and it makes a perfect and fast weeknight dinner. 

Do we really need to tell you how to add pulled pork to a pizza? You can do it any way you like and this recipe can be as homemade as you like. We’ve tried adding some pulled pork on top of a store-bought frozen pizza, and it worked great! On the other hand, if you want to get really fancy, you can do everything by hand, including the dough. 

If you are not sure what to try, one of our favorite pulled pork pizzas is one with pulled pork, some BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, and red onion. There is really not much philosophy to it. Spread the sauce of your choice on the dough (we like a mix of marinara and BBQ sauce), add the pork, the cheese, and any other topping you like. Pop in the oven for approximately 20 minutes and your delicious dinner is ready!

  • Pizza dough (homemade or store bought) 
  • Marinara and/or BBQ sauce for the base 
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese 
  • Red onion, sliced or roasted garlic 
  • Seasoning 

3. Pulled Pork Tacos

Tacos are the ultimate crowd-pleaser, and there is frankly nothing easier than making them with leftover pulled pork. Basically, choose your favorite taco recipe and substitute the meat with pulled pork. 

We like a classic version of pulled pork tacos that uses coleslaw and avocado in combination with pulled pork. Adding sliced onions, jalapenos and/or seasoning like cilantro and paprika will only enhance the taste of your meat. All of this also needs some kind of sauce, of course. We suggest BBQ sauce and sour cream, but you can go as crazy as you like. A twist of lime really brings the dish to a new level.

  • Corn tortillas 
  • Coleslaw 
  • Avocado 
  • Red onions / jalapenos / lime (optional)
  • Your favorite sauce / dressing
  • Any other toppings you’d like to add

4. Add Your Pulled Pork To Mac And Cheese

Mac and cheese with pulled pork is one of those epic leftover meals. If it didn’t take so long to make pulled pork for scratch, we’d be adding it to mac and cheese every time. Luckily, when you have some pulled pork left over from yesterday, you can have tasty pulled pork mac and cheese in less than an hour. 

To make the mac and cheese, first put the macaroni in some boiling water on the stove. While the pasta is cooking, melt some butter in a pan. Add ¼ cup of flour and stir constantly, gradually adding the milk. Keep stirring and cooking the sauce until it’s smooth and thick. Add the shredded cheddar and mix the macaroni. Now, you can put your pulled pork under the mac, or over it, or mix it all together. It’s completely a matter of personal style. For an extra touch of taste, mix the pulled pork with some BBQ sauce first. Put everything in a baking dish and cook in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-25 minutes.

  • 2 cups macaroni 
  • Stick of butter 
  • A bit of all-purpose flour 
  • 2 cups milk 
  • Shredded cheddar cheese 
  • BBQ sauce (optional)

5. Pulled Pork Egg Rolls

Egg rolls are another amazingly easy way to use up your leftover pulled pork. The pulled pork brings classic egg rolls to a whole new level, but at the same time you are eating something completely different than yesterday. 

Now, you can actually fill your egg rolls with whatever you like. There are no rules set in stone that say they have to be made a certain way. However, we do like a classic pulled pork egg roll made with coleslaw and some nice seasoning like ginger or garlic powder. Thinly sliced red onions are also a nice addition. 

To make the coleslaw, thinly slice cabbage and carrots and mix with seasoning of choice. Mix it with it all with your pulled pork. In a cup, mix an egg white with a teaspoon of water. If you prefer not to use eggs, you can use flour and water instead. Place two tablespoons of the mixture on an egg roll wrapper, gently fold and wet the creases with the eggwhite mixture. Now your egg rolls are ready for frying or baking, your choice!

  • Carrots
  • Other veggies of choice

  • 1 egg white 

6. Pulled Pork Sliders

Yes, sliders are technically just small sandwiches, but we believe they deserve their own spot on this list. Making sliders with pulled pork is a great way to create real fancy appetizers. It’s probably worth it to make pulled pork just because of this. 

Now, you can let your imagination go wild when making leftover pulled pork sliders, but here is an easy and delicious version that is guaranteed to impress your guests: Take some slider buns, layer them in a baking dish, and cover with a thick layer of pulled pork. Add BBQ sauce (or some other sauce if you like). Put the tops on, cover with tin foil, and bake in the oven for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, uncover your sliders, remove the tops, add the coleslaw, pickles, and some mustard if you like. Put the tops back on and let finish in the oven for another 10 minutes. 

If you like your sliders extra spicy, you can add some jalapenos too. For cheese lovers, sharp cheddar cheese shredded over the pulled pork will make a fulfilling little sandwich.

7. Pasta With Pulled Pork

The great thing about pulled pork pasta is that you can make it in 30 minutes (if you already have pulled pork from yesterday, of course). If you’ve had a busy day and need a nice dinner on the table ASAP, this should definitely be your go-to recipe. 

To make pulled pork pasta, first boil some water on the stove and cook your pasta according to the directions on the packaging. While the pasta is cooking, heat up another pan for the sauce. If you want to add some veggies, fry some chopped onions and bell peppers first. After a couple of minutes, add the garlic and the pulled pork. Mix everything through and add a can of tomato sauce (mixed with BBQ sauce if you like). Mix the sauce with the pasta, and that’s it, your dinner is ready!

  • 1 can of tomato sauce 
  • BBQ sauce (optional)) 
  • 2 cloves of garlic 
  • 1 red onion 
  • 1 sweet bell pepper (optional) 

8. Pulled Pork Stuffed Potatoes

Baked potatoes with pulled pork is another recipe you really can’t go wrong with. The base of the recipe is potato and pulled pork – everything else is optional, and you can go as crazy as you like. 

To start, take the desired number of potatoes and cut them in half. Brush with olive oil and bake in the oven until done (with the flat cut lying down). Take the potatoes out of the oven, turn them around and scoop out the middle. Fill with pulled pork and cover with BBQ sauce and shredded cheddar if you like. Bake in the oven for 10 more minutes. Sour cream mixed with chopped green onions makes a great topping for this dish.

  • 2-6 large potatoes 
  • Sour cream 
  • Shredded cheddar cheese

  • Olive oil

9. Pulled Pork Nachos

Do we really need to explain pulled pork nachos? Just make your favorite nachos and add some delicious BBQ pulled pork! 

But in all seriousness, to make leftover pulled pork nachos, preheat your oven to 500 degrees and place as many tortilla chips as you like in a baking dish in a thin layer. Spread a layer of beans on top and then a layer of pulled pork. Sprinkle some shredded cheese on everything and bake until it has melted. 

That’s basically your pulled pork nachos, but when you take them out you can add pieces of chopped avocado and jalapenos, and some cilantro if you like. Mix 1 cup of sour cream with some lime juice and sprinkle over everything for an extra dose of freshness.

  • Shredded cheese of choice (pepper jack or cheddar, for example)
  • 1 can of black beans 
  • Avocado / guacamole 
  • Jalapenos 
  • 1 cup sour cream 
  • Juice from 1 lime 

10. Pulled Pork Hash

It doesn’t seem right to finish this list without at least one breakfast suggestion for leftover pulled pork. So here it is: good old pulled pork hash. Although hash is most commonly made with beef, there is no reason not to make it with pulled pork. You essentially need only 3 ingredients: onions, potatoes, and pulled pork. 

If you have some leftover baked potatoes, you can use those. Or you can boil some potatoes. To make the hash, heat a bit of oil on a wide pan and add the onions first. Once the onions turn translucent, add the pulled pork and mix it all through and then mix with the potatoes. Eggs on top are optional.

  • A tablespoon of oil for frying 
  • Potatoes, diced 
  • 1 red onion, diced 
  • Seasoning 
  • Eggs (optional) 

Final Thoughts

Pulled pork is really a fantastic dish, and there is no need to worry if you’ve made too much but don’t like throwing away perfectly good food. As you can see, there are myriads of ways you can use up your leftover pulled pork. These 10 recipes are all easy to make and don’t take more than an hour. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. With pulled pork, you can really awaken your chef within and experiment by creating your own leftover pulled pork dish. Just make sure to refrigerate your pulled pork and reheat it once you want to eat it again.
